Motion Picture and Stage Actor best known for his role as Mordred in the 1981 film "Excalibur." He's also known in England from his role as Sir Guy of Gisburne in the children's drama series "Robin of Sherwood." He starred in numerous British TV productions. He also appeared in "Absolution" (1978) and "Another Country" (1984). On stage he worked in "Journey's End" and "Into the Mist." He died of lung cancer. Memorial cherry tree bearing a commemorative plaque, 'The Jack Gardner Memorial Garden' in Cirencester.
