Religious figure. After attending technical school and the Pontifical Seminary in Molfetta, he was ordained a priest (1934). He studied canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University. In 1942 he participates in the Second World War as Military Chaplain (Greece and Albania). In 1944 he was deported to a German concentration camp. In 1946, he was appointed parish priest of San Ferdinando di Puglia. Don Giuseppe Gallo had this assignment for 20 years (1966). During this time, he was the promoter of the construction of the new Cathedral Church of this little town. In the meantime (1956), he has a degree in Pastoral Theology at the Lateran University. After 1966 he was elevated to the rank of Monsignor, and then holds several prestigious positions in the Diocese of Trani. He founded (1976) the Institute of Religious Sciences of which he will be president until 1986. Don Giuseppe Gallo dies tragically at the age of seventy-six because of a car crash.
