Pfc. Brian Holden of Claremont, NC was a 2005 graduate of Newton-Conover High School. He knew he wanted to be a soldier when he was just 8-years-old and enlisted immediately after graduating from high school. Brian was first deployed in October, sent his family dozens of photographs from his missions. Several show the young soldier standing next to smiling Iraqi children. But he was growing tired and was looking forward to two weeks of leave. He was just days away from taking his bride Amanda to Myrtle Beach. He was 20.
