MRS. ETHEL STIREWALT

CARTHAGE, Mo. - Mrs. Ethel May Stirewalt, 79, 829 West Vine street died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Vernon State Chest Hospital where she had been a patient since June 12. She had been ill five years.
Mrs. Stirewalt was born May 12, 1894 in Dade county, and had lived in Carthage seven years, coming here from La Russell. She married John Stirewalt in 1912. He died February 7, 1967. She was a member of the Bykota Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons, Sergil L. Stirewalt and Robert Stirewalt, both of Mount Vernon, John D. Stirewalt, 431 Fall St., Harold P. Stirewalt, Westminster, California; Lloyd Stirewalt, Carthage route 2, and Clyde Stirewalt, Carthage route 4: six daughters, Mrs. Rose West, rural La Russell, Mrs. Louise Spellman, Mount Vernon, Mrs. Ninna Comstock of the home. Mrs. Jewel Roughton and Mrs. Betty Carnes, both of Carthage route 4 and Mrs. Muriel Pennington, Sarcoxie; two brothers, Gene Enke, rural La Russell and John Enke, Bellflower, CA.; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Foust, Stotts City and Mrs. Joanne O'Dear, Detroit, Michigan; 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
