Appearing in over fifty films, her other credits included "The Black Cat" (1941), "Now Voyager" (1941), "The White Cliffs of Dover" (1943), "The Green Year" (1946), "The Pirate" (1948), "Thunder on the Hill" (1951), "My Fair Lady" (1964) and "A Nice Girl Like Me" (1969). She was nominated three times for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award and died from pneumonia at the age of 82.
