Oscar was the youngest of eight children. Like several of his siblings, notably Harry, Isidore, and Lena, Oscar was a talented musician. A composer, arranger, and pianist, he was best known as the accompanist of Mabel McKinley (President McKinley's daughter) and the music director for the "Irish Tenor" Fiske O'Hara. Oscar had physical challenges. He was abnormally short, and his draft card, issued the year before he died at age 40, said at that time he was totally blind.
