Actor. He was an American character actor of the 20th century. Born Sherwood Keith LaCount, he dropped his surname when he became an actor. Beginning in 1959 with one episode as Dutch Flagler on the TV series "The Lawless Years," he mainly appeared in small roles in television productions. He appeared in five episodes of "The Andy Griffith Show" and two episodes of "Perry Mason." Some of the other television series in which he had a one-episode role were "The Real McCoys," "Adam-12", "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," and "Have Gun Will Travel." He had the role of an unnamed physician in the 1961 film "Patty" and the 1964 film "The Best Man." He had the uncredited role of the doorman in the eight-Academy-Award-winning 1968 film "Funny Girl." His last film was in 1971 before his health declined. He died from complications of cancer.
