She married Wayne F. Timmerman on April 20, 1947, at Sackets Harbor with town Justice Ira W. Stokes officiating. Mr. Timmerman served in the Army for nearly 33 years with service in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was assigned as command sergeant major at Fort Drum in October 1969 and retired as post command sergeant major June 30, 1975. The couple had resided throughout the United States and Europe, moving to Black River in the early 1970s. Mr. Timmerman died June 2, 2002.
She enjoyed painting and giving away flowerpots painted with scenes of flowers and plants and painting gourds into figurines. She also had painted landscapes and sculpted.
