Robert Alan Murphy, 61, of Lincoln, Calif died suddenly on Monday, April 10, 2017, from a heart attack.

Robert (Bob) was born Dec. 6, 1955, in Sebastopol, Calif. He was employed as a Procurement Specialist/Vendor Manager and retired from Hewlett Packard in 2005.
Bob was a HUGE sports fan and especially loved the SF Giants, 49ers, and Warriors He shared his passion for sports and love of the game with everyone. He played youth sports and spent over 25 years as a coach for Little League and Senior League baseball and Girls Softball.

Bob and his wife Cindy were very involved with the Masonic Fraternity, Order of the Eastern Star, and International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Bob served as Master of Eureka Lodge #16 in 2008 and 2009 and was a member of the Northern California Past Masters Association. He served as Worthy Patron of Crystal Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Auburn and spent over 10 years as Chairman of the Advisory Board for Rainbow Girls in Auburn and Roseville. He was a member of the Grand Masters Youth Order Committee, Rainbow Public Relations Team, and served on many committees for the Eastern Star Grand Chapter. He was very proud to have received the service award from each of these organizations which include the Rainbow Grand Cross of Color, Eastern Star Service Award, and Masonic Hiram Award.

Bob was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, a coach, and mentor. He had an incredible artistic talent, a great sense of humor, and a passion for all he did. His greatest joy was seeing others succeed and reach their potential. He was larger than life and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia Murphy; son Ryan and wife Johanna of Seattle; daughter Melissa and husband Scott of Ukiah; brother Jim Murphy and wife Debbie of Portola; sister Patti Murphy and partner Joy Monteleone of Santa Rosa; sister Jani Jacobs of Carmichael; granddaughters Wren and Alexis and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. James T. Murphy, DVM and Alice Murphy.

A Masonic and Eastern Star memorial service will be held on July 29th at the Auburn Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Masons4Mitts, the California Eastern Star Foundation Heart Fund, or the California Rainbow for Girls Foundation.
