Oscar H. Wade, 84, Golden, MO, passed away June 17, 2012. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence MO. Oscar was born April 6, 1928 to Charles Henry and Pearl Arlene (McLaughlin) Wade of Montier Township, MO. He entered the Army and served in Korea from 1950 to 1952. After his service to the military he worked at Sheffield/Armco Steel for 35 years. Upon retirement he moved to Emerald Beach Village and was a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT with Eagle Rock Fire Department. Oscar loved to fish and hunt. He was most at home in the outdoors. He also enjoyed reading. Oscar loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers; Charles, Ivan, James and Jack; 3 sisters: Frances McBride, Malissie Arvin and Charlene Helfrich and a grandchild, Autumn Fritchie. Survivors include his wife, Norma "Gene" (Baker); 6 children, Mary and husband Duane Fritchie of Lee's Summit, MO, Karen and husband Michael Mansell of Bates City, MO, Betty Fox of Independence, MO, Sandra and husband Albert "Edward" Theno of Kansas City, MO, Deanna and husband Gary Maloney of Fulton, KS and Roger Wade and wife Kimberly of Plattsburg, MO; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
