Leeland Wayne Burchett, 73 of Midland Texas died Friday June 6, 2008 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Wayne was born December 20, 1034 in Big Spring Texas to the late William Ellis and Norma Ethel Burchett. He married the love of his life Ruthie Adams in 1960.
He served in the armed forces from 1957 to 1963 and was an expert rifleman. He worked to obtain his Associates Degree in Fire Science and service Midland as a Fireman for 25 years and retired in 1986. The past couple of years he enjoyed working at the Southside Walmart.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents William Ellis and Norma Ethel Burchett, Sister Betty Jean Brown and brother-in-law Sammy Brown.
He is survived by his wife Ruthie, 3 children, Christy Burchett of Houston, Stephanie Rotan of Midland, Guy Burchett of Midland, a sister Joyce White of Big Spring, a brother Terry Burchett of Midland and 3 Grandchildren, Casey Rotan, Kevin Rotan and Wayne Rotan of Midland. He was loved by Numerous Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.
