Daughter of James Borer and Francis Wiffin, Miriam lived most of her life in London and in Brighton. She was an accomplished harpist and played in the royal palace as a young girl and into her adulthood. She married John "Jack" Edward Howden in Islington, 23 April 1871. They had one daughter, Frances Kate Howden who married Frank Kirton.
Miriam previously had a son, by the name of Enos Mark Lewis Borer, born out of wedlock when she was 15 years old. He was taken from her and emigrated with his new family to New Zealand. To her sorrow,she never saw him again.
Miriam is buried with her husband Jack 1851 - 1927 and a brother James Borer 1833 - 1921. The marker is an "open book with only the left side used. It has Kerbstones.
