James is my 1st Cousin 2x Removed.

Born at 40 Saint Peters Street - Croydon. First son and child of James Martin and Elsie May Ridgeon. He has 2 younger sisters Doreen and Bettie.

Baptised at Saint Peter's in Croydon Surrey on the 10th of May 1914.

1921 Census: Living with parents and younger sister, Doreen at 96 Selsdon Road, Croydon, Surrey.

Married Stella May Webber (1915–1998) on the 1st of November 1937 at Saint Saviour's Parish Church. James's Occupation is a plumber. His father was also a plumber. They had a daughter together.

James joined the navy and was on the ship Jervis Bay when it sank during World War 2, in the North Atlantic Sea, while on convoy duty. James was presumed missing and possibly killed.

Stella never remarried.
