Beatrice Earl Hicks Atkinson, age 75, passed away Monday, September 15th at Britthaven Nursing Home in Somerset.
She was born May 10th, 1911 in the Gap Creek community, the daughter of Mintford and Elzura Lee Hicks, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to the late Henry Hamilton Atkinson.
Surviving are nine children, Millard of Columbus, Georgia, Henry Earl and Mintford Ray, both of Monticello, Alva Pendleton of Muncie, Indiana, Betty Crabtree, Olene Morgan, Dona Shelton, Lavon Morrow and Wanda Lee Atkinson, all of Monticello; four brothers, Clyde, Paul, Silas, and Millard Hicks; one sister, Cara Antle; 29 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 18th at 10 am in the chapel of the funeral home with Brother Howard Carrender officiating. Burial was in the Gap Creek Church Cemetery.
