Stanislava Milosevic, mother of Slobodan Milosevic, was a school teacher and a fervent Communist activist. Stanislava, was an aristocratic Montenegrin beauty. She committed suicide by hanging herself in her living room in her home in Pozarevac, 1974. She like her husband didn't leave a note, but her acquaintances believe that the accumulated pressures and self-sacrifice involved in raising two sons on a teacher's salary drove this high-strung and sensitive woman to such a desperate end. They also say that after her sons and daughters-in-law left Pozarevac, she had become somewhat of a recluse.

She is buried in a cemetery in the town of Pozarevac just north of Belgrade.
