Dean Myron Hoover was born on the orginal pioneer Hoover farm, the son of Lester Raymond Hoover and Dorothy Peyton Oliphant. They are buried in this cemetery. Dean was married to Daphane Arlene Dudley on November 28, 1948 in the Troy Mills Christian Church. We have been lifetime farmer and lived north of Troy Mills, Iowa near this cemetery and Hoover Wesleyan Church. We are parents of four children: Deanice Rae Hoover Ludolph, Donita Mae Hoover Casey, Daniel Ray Hoover, DeWayne Jay Hoover.

The above was written by Daphane Hoover, Dean's wife. Upon Daphane's passing in 2018 the management of this and other memorials were transferred to me, Brett D. Reece. Dean was a great man and I enjoyed speaking with him and Daphane about the places and persons connected to the Troy Mills area. On numerous occasions I sat at their kitchen table at their home next to Hoover Church and absorbed their years of local history knowledge gained by their lifetime of living in the Troy area.

Dean had a heart of gold and I remember many conversations with him. I will remember the times we repaired cemetery grave markers in cemeteries near Troy.
