John William Johnson, 51, of Catawba, SC died Friday, March 6, 2009 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Johnson was born to the late Edward F. Johnson and Marianne Rukavina Johnson on January 27, 1958. He was employed by United Stationers for the last 25 years. Mr. Johnson attended Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Charlotte. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his best friend and wife, Wanda F. Johnson of the home; children, Jessica M. Johnson of the home, Katie J. Dennis and husband Braxton of Charlotte; brothers, George E. Johnson, Robert M. Johnson, Greg M. Johnson, David B. Johnson all of Charlotte; grandsons, Justice Allen Johnson, Braxton Edwin Dennis, II; mother-in-law, Ruth C. Fowlkes of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Robert S. Fowlkes and wife Sandy; sister-in-law, Kimberly F. Todd and husband Matt and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 7:00pm,Wednesday, March 11 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with Dr. Robin Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Holly Elementary School, (for school supplies), 1800 Porter Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church Street, #303, Charlotte, NC 28202.
