Elbert R. Andrews, youngest child of W. J. and Susan Caroline (Maize) Andrews was born January 29, 1892 and passed away at the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri, April 5, 1965. He was 73 years, 2 months and 6 days old.
Elbert was born in Schuyler County, Missouri and except for a few years, lived here all of his life. For several years, he traveled throughout the Northern and Western states shearing sheep. He also served two terms as City Marshall of Lancaster.
He was married to Minnie Sloop and to this marriage two children were born. A son, Leo and a daughter, Hazel.
Elbert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister, Janie, (Mrs Albert Casteel).
He is survived by three brothers, Luther and Rev. Thurman Andrews of Lancaster, Mo., and Ellis of Centerville, Ia, his son, Leo of Ottumwa, Ia and his daughter Mrs. Hazel Childers of Omaha, Nebr, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Normal Funeral Chapel in Lancaster, Mo., Wednesday, April 7, 1965 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev James Ingersoll, minister of the Baptist church.
Music was by Miss Donna Norman at the organ.
Pallbearers were the nephews.
Interment was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Norman’s.
