Clara Backes, age 100, of Hot Springs Village AR, died Saturday at a local nursing home; born in North Dakota to the late Nicholas Kirsch and Mary (Zeltinger) Kirsch; retired homemaker and member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, husband George Backes, three sons; Joseph, Clarus and Bruce Backes, son in law Christopher Carey, grandson Glenn Backes.
Survivors include son Clinton Backes (Jeanne) of Hot Springs Village AR, daughter Myrna Carey of St Joseph MI, 2 daughters in law, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
