Martha Lade was born May 10, 1889, in Grant, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Emilie Lade. She moved with her parents to a farm north of Minot in 1902. She married Rudolph Grimm April 12, 1912, in Minot. They farmed in Lake Hester Township, McHenry County, and moved to Velva in 1942. She moved to Trinity Nursing Home in Minot in 1971.
