Medical Pioneer. He was a pioneer in the field of plastic surgery famed mainly for his role as consultant in Plastic Surgery to the Royal Air Force during World War II, a role which involved many operations on dozens of British fighter pilots. Based at East Grinstead's Queen Victoria Hospital, the pilots christened themselves 'The Guinea Pig Club'.
