Born September 24, 1796 Carlisle, Penn. Graduate Dickinson College (1818) and University of Penn (1827), enlisted in U.S. Army November 1829, quartered in Oglethorpe barracks, sacrificed his life in caring for yellow fever epidemic victims. Grandson of American patriot Col, Ephraim A. Blaine, commissionary general of continental army, expired without heir.
