Mr. Harry E. Kuhn, 89, of 903-A Wesley Drive, Quincy, PA, and formerly of 3788 Clubhouse Drive, Fayetteville, PA, died at 4: 46 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2009 in Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, PA. Born January 26, 1920 in Zullinger, PA, he was the son of Albert C. and Sarah C. (Copenhaver) Kuhn. Mr. Kuhn was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1938. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He and his first wife, Mrs. Lillian G. (Peters) Kuhn, were married December 26, 1942 in Winchester, VA. She died September 9, 1988. He and his second wife, Mrs. Dorothy R. "Dot" (Reachard) Funk Kuhn, were married August 31, 1990 in the First Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, PA. They had lived at their present residence since 2003. Mr. Kuhn was employed as a draftsman at Landis Tool Company and Frick Company, both of Waynesboro. Prior to his retirement on July 15, 1983, he was employed as a postal clerk for the Waynesboro Post Office. He was a member of Otterbein Church, Waynesboro, Quincy Care Auxiliary, Quincy Railroad Club and Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Waynesboro. He was a former member of Eagles Club, Inc., B.P.O. Elks Lodge #731, William Max McLaughlin VFW Post # 695 and Waynesboro Studio Club, Pen Mar Dance Club where he was a charter member, 9&90 Dance Club, Penn National Homeowners Association and national AARP. He also served on the Board of Directors for Waynesboro Welfare for nine years. In addition to his second wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Finafrock of Waynesboro; one son, Brian E. Kuhn of Poquoson, VA; one step-daughter, Susan M. Bartles of Waynesboro; four step-sons, J. Gregory Funk of Chambersburg, P. Jeffrey Funk of Waynesboro, Thomas A. Funk of Lancaster, PA and Douglas P. Funk of Finksburg, MD; four grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Mentzer and Alma Frantz, both of Waynesboro; one brother, Charles L. Kuhn of Marietta, GA and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred L. Kuhn and Margie Herr; and one brother, Ralph E. Kuhn. Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, September 21, 2009 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Pastor John Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, with military graveside honors conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post #1599, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Sunday in the funeral home.
