husband of Janet K Kline married 20 June 1970 in Thurmont, Maryland and son of Anna (Ervin) and Wilbur Crilly Zook. He was a life long resident of Waynesboro. Mr. Zook graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School with the class of 1948. While in high school, he played football and baseball and following high school, he tried out for the Philadelphia A's minor league baseball team. He served in the Waynesboro National Guards with the 176th AFA Battery C during the Korean War. His unit served in Korean from 1951 through 1952. He was awarded the Commendation Ribbon for duty above and beyond the call of duty. Wib was employed by the United Telephone Company, first as a lineman and repairman, and prior to retiring August 1990 after 42 years of service; he was in management in the Chambersburg office.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, where he served as an elder; member of Rotary Club of Waynesboro; Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce; Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Waynesboro, and the Waynesboro Country Club where he served on the board of directors. Mr. Zook enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children, Melissa A. Grimes, husband Rick of West Friendship, MD; Sharon R. Raber, husband Jeff of Mechanicsburg, PA; Gretchen Z. Radcliffe, husband John of Waynesboro, Craig E. Bonebrake, wife Lisa of Mechanicsburg, six grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Zook Davis who died in 1978.
