Kelby Lee Akins

age 7 months, son of Lee and Mitzi Akins, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Children's Hospital in Knoxville.

He was a brave and strong fighter in his battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He inspired many and touched all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother;
Jene Ann Price and
paternal great-grandmother;
Edith Akins.

He is survived by his sister; Gracie Akins, brother; Joshua Akins, maternal grandfather; Mitchell (Sandra) Price, paternal grandparents; George and Shirley Akins, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of church family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. David Williams and the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, February 14 in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Cardiac Center in Philadelphia, Penn. or to the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, Penn.
