John was a National Honor Sociaty, U.L. Science and Lt. Col. in the ROTC as a Junior, completed in Orienteering and a Letter as a Junior.∼John Reed Absalon, beloved son of Hugo and Deborah Absalon, brother to James and Alexandra, passed away on March 5, 2002, age 16. John was a quiet young man with exemplary accomplishments. He was in the National Honor Society, placed in UIL Science while at Kitty Hawk Middle School. While at Judson High School, John was a Lt. Col. in ROTC program as a Junior, competed in Orienteering and earned a Letter Jacket as a Junior, inducted in the National Honor Society as a Sophomore, participated in community service projects this included being a mentor to elementary children. John is survived by his maternal grandmother, Velma and Kenneth Owens and James H. Jones; paternal grandparents, Hugo P. and Emma Absalon; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of friends.
