OREGON CITY -- Hazen Hinkley Coop, 76, late of Route 1, Box 161, Oregon City, died Saturday evening at his home following a short illness.
Mr. Coop was born on May 30, 1881 in Klickitat County, Wash. and was a retired carpenter. He had lived in the state for 54 years and in the community for the last 10 years. He was married in 1905 at Brush Prairie, Wash. and they moved to Portland, later moving to Oregon City 40 years ago, living in the Mt. Pleasant area. He worked at construction and in later years was in the chicken business.
Survivors include his widow, Pearl E.; four sons, and four daughters, Wilfred, Gladstone; Orville, Canby, Elbert and Roy, Mrs. Hazel Sajovic, Mrs. Pansy Bullard and Mrs. Frieda Felix, all of Oregon City; Mrs. Gladys Saun, Sherwood, three brothers,and one sister, Willard Coop and Mrs. Florence Knight, both of San Francisco, Calif.; Eslem, Oakland, Calif.; Abraham, Grants Pass; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Rev. Clark S. Enz will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. service Wednesday at the Holman-Hankins-Rilance Funeral Home. Internment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery.

His Son - PFC Stanley Charles Coop passed away Aug. 22, 1944 and is burried in Florence, Italy.

Parents of Hazen were Charles Coop and Lydia Hinkley.
