A graduate of Niagara University in New York, Sullivan received his M.D. from Georgetown University. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force.
Sullivan was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the D.C. Medical Society and the Touchdown Club of Washington.
He leaves his wife, Tweety K.; a son, John Jr. of Hyattsville, and three grandchildren.
Services and burial will be held Wednesday in Hornwell, N.Y.
