'Harvey J. Pool, highly respected citizen of Nevada, passed away at his home Monday morning about 7 o'clock. He had been suffering over two years with progressive paralysis and was helpless for about ten months, being entirely helpless about two weeks. Mr. Pool suffered a stroke of paralysis Monday morning, resulting in death, says the Wyandot Chief. Deceased was the son of Ira and Mary Pool and was born in Richland county, March 23, 1841, being aged 74 years, 10 months and 21 days. He was united in marriage in 1866 to Mary Melinda Anderson of Nevada, who died last July. Mr. and Mrs. Pool had since their marriage resided at Nevada. Five children were born to this union, all of whom survive. They are: Bertha, wife of Charles McLaughlin. of Nevada; Effie, wife of Rev. Frank Poole, of Cleveland; Miss Lauche Pool, of Goshen, Ind.; Robert Pool, of Youngstown; and Miss Achsah Pool, at home. Deceased is also survived by a brother, Captain R.W. Pool, of Nevada; two half-brothers, Sherman Pool, who resides in Iowa; and F.M. Pool, northeast of Upper Sandusky; a sister, Mrs. Samuel Harper, of Mutual Oklahoma; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Isaiah Walton, of Fremont; and Mrs. Frank Hayflick, of Fairview, Kansas. Mr. Pool was a member of the One Hundred and Forty-fourth Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, from the home, conducted by Rev. W.C. Laughbaum, pastor of the Nevada Lutheran church. Burial will be made in the Nevada cemetery.'
