Son of William & Sylvia (Nutt) Bucklin of Thorndike, ME.


Mr. Bucklin was a 27 year old Farmer from Waldo when he enlisted as a Private on 11 Aug 1862. He mustered to active duty 25 Aug 1862 with Company D; 19th Infantry Regiment; Maine Volunteers at Bath, Maine. He was described as standing 5' 5.5" with black hair and black eyes. He served honorably until 18 Jul 1864 when he was discharged for disability.

 

Mr. Bucklin's name appears on non-military records as Bucklin and Buckline, but during his service he was carried on the rolls as Buckling.

 

He applied for an Invalid Pension 4 Sep 1866, application# 114.953 which was granted under certificate 118.903. After his death his widow, Sarah, received his Widow's pension.
