RICHARD S. BOYD
---Richard S. Boyd, thirty-five, who was inducted into service three weeks ago, died of acute septicemia at a hospital in Jefferson Barracks June 12, 1942. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boyd of east of La Plata where he had resided the last few years with his parents.
---The body was brought here Sunday afternoon and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Bell cemetery conducted by Rev. Bell with burial made there. D.S. Christie was in charge of the funeral. The body was escorted here by Sgt. Farber of Cedar Rapids, Iowa who had been in the service the past six weeks.
---Richard is survived by his parents, four brothers and four sisters, Melvin, in the service at Ft. Hills, Oklahoma, George of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Russell, Ernest and Robert of the family home, Mrs. Abbie Sweezer of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Edna Wacker of Kansas City, Agnes at the home and Mrs. Elizabeth Epperson of Elmer; other relatives and friends.
