Shadow was an energetic German Shepherd mix who shook his head from side to side when he barked. He drank large volumes of water, I could only hope to never get stuck in the desert with him! He only ever asked of one thing: to ALWAYS be with me.
One afternoon in May, I spent some quality time with Shadow, brushing his long hair. He was full of energy, and seemed particularly happy to see me. The following day he was found dead in the backyard from an apparent aneurysm. After all this time, still can't hold back the tears.
