Emery Olson, age 83 of West Bend, WI and formerly from Fosston, MN passed away on Tuesday, February 17th at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 11:00 AM at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston with Pastor Dan Cole officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the funeral home on Saturday morning. Interment will be at Kingo Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to carlinhoialmen.com.

Emery Charles Olson was born on February 22, 1931 to parents Emil and Clara (Tollefson) Olson at Fosston, Minnesota where he grew up and attended school.

Emery served in the U.S. Army from June 19, 1952 to May 19, 1954. After his military service he lived in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was married and raised seven children. He worked for many years at Bucyrus Erie Company, one of the world's largest manufacturers of earth moving equipment.

He married for a second time, retired from work and moved to northern Wisconsin. Later he moved to McIntosh, Minnesota for several years, then to Fosston, and most recently to West Bend, Wisconsin.

Emery traveled twice to Gol, Norway where his grandfather was born. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with his brothers in Minnesota and spending time relaxing with his numerous pet cats and dogs.

On Tuesday, February 17, 2015 Emery passed away at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Milwaukee at the age of 83 years.

He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Kathy) Olson, Kurt (Joanie) Olson, Scott (Amy) Olson, Todd Olson, Pamela Olson (fiancé David Swenson) and Paul Olson; grandchildren, Erin, Jeffrey Jr., Kris, Kelly, Rick, Deleana, Amanda, Melissa, Timothy, Michael, Megan, Danielle, Deanna, Jarad, Katie, Amber, Dillon, Jacob and Rae; great grandchildren, Hunter, Bentley, Kayla, Kristopher, Linus, Ashton, Celeste, Elliot, Maddox, Tallyn, Matthew Jr., Jeremiah, Elizabeth and Makayla; brothers and sisters, Richard (Myrna) Olson, Pat (Mike) Lynch, Corrine Varholdt, Gary (Mary Jo) Olson, Robert (Karen) Olson, Victoria (Alvin) Olson and David (Ruth) Olson; son-in-law, Tom Kearns; sisters-in-law, Sue Louks and Barb Sweno; and many great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Peggy; and brothers, Gene and Timothy.
