Linus Berberich, 64, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at his home in Brooks, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 18, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brooks, MN with Father Tim Bushy, presiding. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Brooks, MN.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, August 17, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brooks, MN with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to service at the church, Friday.

Linus Duane Berberich was born July 18, 1942 at home on the family farm, in Popler River Township, Red Lake County, MN, the son of Leander Edwin and Mayme Viola (Asselin) Berberich. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brooks, MN. He grew up there and attended Brooks Elementary School and Plummer High School at Plummer, MN. He worked at American Crystal Sugar Company, Crookston, MN and Pillsbury Company in Golden Valley, MN. He also worked for many area farmers.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brooks, MN. He liked to garden, hunt, visit with friends and relatives and play cards. He had a lot of good friends and good times. He enjoyed living at home with his mother and brothers.

Linus is survived by mother, Mayme Berberich, Brooks, MN; brothers, LeRoy, Lawrence (Sue), Butch and John (Stacey) Berberich all from Brooks, MN; sisters, Marge (Tom) Miller, Thief River Falls, MN, Loretta (Larry) Pittman, Thief River Falls, MN, Alice (Sonnie) Balstad, Fosston, MN, Sue (fiancé, Jack Nelson) Olson, Fosston, MN, Fritz Liebl, Mahnomen, MN, Betty (Mark) Lindy, Bemidji, MN, Rita (Kevin) Fenner, Bemidji, MN, Kay (Joe) Sharp, Erskine, MN, Connie (Charles) Bishop, Waskish, MN and Janet (Rick) Koivisto, Plummer, MN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by father, Leander; sister, Carol Harbott; grandparents Fred and Margaret Berberich and Onezime and Permillia Asselin; 1 nephew, Chad Berberich, 2 nieces, Jana and Jennifer Miller and 3 brothers-in-law, Kenny Liebl, Richard Dugstad and Gene Olson.
