Margaret Smith Seawell, 87, formerly of the 1200 block of Holly St., died Aug. 6, 1999, in Newport News.
Born in Four Oaks, N.C., she was the widow of Coy Seawell. She retired as a saleswoman from David Rawls Dress Shop after 24 years. She was a member of Rosemont Christian Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include three sons, William I. Clay of Ivor, Va., Ernest Adams Clay of Portsmouth and Paul S. Clay of Newport News; two sisters, Ethel Hodges of Chesapeake and Maude Adams of Four Oaks; two brothers, Joe David Smith and Raymond R. Smith, both of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. James Dunn. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel.
