Born July 8, 2004, ended a two-and a-half- year battle with cancer and passed away on Monday, November 23. Noah lived a large life in a very short time. He visited the North Pole and met Santa Claus; he befriended Mickey Mouse at Disneyland; he lent courage to doctors; he inspired his best friend and favorite baseball player Brandon Inge to hit a home run. Faced with the fact Noah most likely wouldn't make it to Christmas, they decided to bring the holiday to him Nov. 6 at Noah's South Lyon apartment.
Members of the South Lyon police and fire departments brought Santa to Noah, so the family could celebrate Christmas while Noah was in hospice care.
As part of the early holiday gathering, Noah's parents humbly requested that Christmas cards arrive for their son.
The request was made initially on a Web page for family supporters, but went viral hitting Facebook, Twitter, national media and even the Ellen DeGeneres TV show. The family received letters and packages for Noah reaching one million. Packages came from throughout the world ranging from Florida to Hong Kong.
Ultimately, Noah lived his dreams and became the one thing he most wanted to be. "I just want to be a superhero," he said. And he was. He had the courage to endure the neuroblastoma, the power of a small smile, and the strength to survive forever within the hearts and minds of all those he touched. He is survived by his mother, Diana Lynn Biorkman, and his father, Carl Scott Biorkman.
