Carmine Ventre was born in Salerno, Italy, the son of Pietro Ventre and Rosa Maresca. He married Maria Malangone. Their children were: Anna, Alfonso, Thomas, James, Rose, Jennie and Tessie. The family arrived in New York City in August 1900. Carmine worked as a butcher on Grand Street in Little Italy. He died of cerebral hemmorhage.
