Mrs. Van Deusen was a member of Helping Hands and the choir at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, North Caldwell. She also was a member of Glad Tjeneste at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Jersey City. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Fairfield and Montville before moving to Andover five years ago. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. N. Lynn Bode, Mrs Joan E. Schwendel and Mrs. S. She wrote in 1987: "My first job was in Woolworth's, Journal Square. [It] lasted 2 days at Christmas time. people were demanding and I was always sensitive in those days. [I] worked for my father, then a real job with Mackel Service, Journal Square. Later Avon for 16 years. That was after we were married. [My favorite place growing up was] spending 2 weeks with my Aunt Ada [Freudenberg] and uncle Ralph [Kolman] at their Summer place [at] Matavan Beach, New Jersey. [The first time I was away from home was when] my uncle Ralph [Kolman] picked me up and took me to their shore place at Matavan Beach. I always admired my mother and wanted to be like her when I grew up. She was a steady Christian, had lots of friends and our house was always busy. we played cards too. My mother and father separated when I was 12 or 13 years old. My uncle Louis Freudenberg died when I was young [, 1918 in the war, and he was reburied in 1921]. I can remember his coffin being in my grandma's living room, it was a closed casket and there was a procession in the street."

Born in Jersey City, she lived in Fairfield and Montville before moving to Andover five years ago. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. N. Lynn Bode, Mrs Joan E. Schwendel and Mrs. S. Penny Linson; a sister, Mrs. Sally Norton; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren."
Memories of Naida Muriel Freudenberg:
She wrote in 1987: "My first job was in Woolworth's, Journal Square. [It] lasted 2 days at Christmas time. people were demanding and I was always sensitive in those days. [I] worked for my father, then a real job with Mackel Service, Journal Square. Later Avon for 16 years. That was after we were married. [My favorite place growing up was] spending 2 weeks with my Aunt Ada [Freudenberg] and uncle Ralph [Kolman] at their Summer place [at] Matavan Beach, New Jersey. [The first time I was away from home was when] my uncle Ralph [Kolman] picked me up and took me to their shore place at Matavan Beach. I always admired my mother and wanted to be like her when I grew up. She was a steady Christian, had lots of friends and our house was always busy. we played cards too. My mother and father separated when I was 12 or 13 years old. My uncle Louis Freudenberg died when I was young [, 1918 in the war, and he was reburied in 1921]. I can remember his coffin being in my grandma's living room, it was a closed casket and there was a procession in the street."

The Van Deusen and Winblad families married twice: (1) Geraldine Marie Winblad (1928- ) married Emmett Peter Van Deusen II (1926-2002) and (2) Burnett Peter Van Deusen (1913-1993) married Naida Muriel Freudenberg (1915-1998), the daughter of Maria Elisabeth Winblad (1895-1987).
