SUDDEN DEATH
Friday last Uncle Chris Bingaman, who for the past fifty-two years had resided in the vicinity of Weller, entered his home and after lying down on a couch, asked what time it was. He was informed that it was one o'clock, and after remaining quiet for about ten minutes, without the least struggle, his loved ones found his body cold in death.
The messenger came without the slightest warning, just after the noon meal, causing not only the immediate family but the whole neighborhood to be greatly shocked. The funeral was held Sunday, Rev. Couchman officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oakdale cemetery.
Mr. Bingaman was 72 years of age and was the father of ten children, all of whom with his aged companion survive, together with twenty-four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was a devout member of the Oakdale M. E. church and his religious experience was such that his friends believe he was gloriously translated to that perfect city whose builder and maker is God, eternal in the heavens. In his death a good man has departed, and we who tarry are exhorted to emulate his good example.
