My paternal grandfather was born as the third son of my great-grandparents Franz & Marie Freund, named Gustav Rudolf Freund.
He learned the profession of a carpenter.
In World War II he lost his left leg.
On 24 August 1946 he married Gertrud Schulze. They become parents of six children. Four of them already dead: Horst ( *1955 - †1997) __ Otto ( *1951 - †2001) _ Barbara (*1946 - †2012) _ Peter (*1948 - †2016)
He died of heart failure, aged 59, shortly after his wife.
