F. David Bauwens, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2015. He was born October 25, 1930, son of Joseph A. and Mary Louise VanLanker Bauwens, in Davenport, Iowa. He and his wife of 60 years, Arlene M. (Warlop) Bauwens were married on 1 October 1955 and raised five children, David, Peggy (Lisette), Andy (Rona), Mary Quackenbush, Yvonne (Mike) Mehsikomer. He was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Mary Helen Brust of Moline, Illinois. Dave and Arlene moved to Tucson in 1986, after his retirement as Battalion Chief of the Rock Island Fire Department, Rock Island, Illinois, where he served for 27 years as a member of the Rock Island Fire Department from 18 June 1961 - 22 Dec 1986. Dave was also a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Services will be held at St. Pius X Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on March 28 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rock Island Fire Department, Rock Island, Illinois. Arrangements provided by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
