Lloyd Walter Dunsworth was a member of the Rock Island Fire Department, Rock Island, Illinois, and died in the line of duty while fighting a grass fire in the southwest area of Rock Island on 11 April 1968.
He was survived by his wife, Etta May Runyon Dunsworth, and children Daniel L., Timothy J., Allen R. and Kelley W.
Coroner James L. Shaw today set 10 a.m. Tuesday for an inquest into the death of Lloyd W. Dunworth, 41, Rock Island fireman who collapsed while fighting a rapidly moving grass and leaf blaze yesterday afternoon and died about an hour and 15 minutes later in St. Anthony's Hospital.
Asphyxiation was given as the apparent cause of the fireman's death in a preliminary pathologist report after an autopsy conducted in the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, yesterday. It was at first believed Dunsworth had a heart attack, but the coroner said nothing was found wrong with his heart in the autopsy.
The inquest will be conducted in the coroner's office in the courthouse.
The scene of the grass fire was a large area behind 8005 Ridgewood Road, in Rock Island's southwest area. Firemen were called to battle it at 12:20 p.m. yesterday and Dunsworth, a member of Engine Co. No. 6, 4200 12th St., was found by Firefighter Joseph S. Lindbloom of Engine Co. No. 5 lying on his back on a hillside at 2:10 p.m. He died in the hospital at 3:25 p.m.

Mr Dunsworth was born July 19, 1926 in Keokuk, Iowa, a son of George M. and Neta Kelley Dunsworth. He received his education in Rock Island schools, and had resided in Rock Island the past 38 years. He married Etta Mae Runyon March 7, 1947 in Rock Island.
He was a member of First Methodist Church, Rock Island; International Association of Firefighters, Rock Island Local No. 530; the Illinois Firemens Association; Rock Island Firefighters Relief and Welfare Association; and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.
Surviving the widow, Etta May Runyon Dunsworth, and children Daniel L., Allen R. and Kelley W., all at home, and Timothy J., stationed with the Army in Korea; a sister, Mrs. Leroy (Gayla) Raymie of Green Rock, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dunsworth of Rock Island.
Full honor guard rites will be held by the Rock Island Fire Department, under the authority of Fire Chief Glenn Ayers, at the funeral home.
