Patrick William Zacher, age 26, died tragically March 11 of head trauma suffered in an industrial accident. He is survived by his mother Evelyn of Plymouth; father Rev. Michael & stepmother Carole of Eden Prairie; sisters, Michele, New York, Martha, Minneapolis; "brother" Brant McManigle of Minneapolis; his fiancee, Amanda Fuller, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandparents, Bill & Val Zacher, St. Petersburg, FL, Angie Seten, Madison, SD; uncles, Steve Zacher, Eldon (Peach) Seten, Madison, SD; aunt, Angela (Ron) Teal, Aurora, SD; cousins, Joanne, Rhonda, Tony, Martin, Brian, and Todd; extended family, Kim, Chuck, Cody, and Jenna Brunner of Farmington, Barb, Jon, Amy, Erika, and Renee Sheflet of Bloomington, Deb, Mike, Emma, Scott and Craig Smith of Prior Lake.Patrick was a free spirit and a wonderful, caring companion to countless friends, co-workers, and family members. His friends have said, "Pat was always there to listen, share, and help in times of need." A skilled carpenter and mechanic, he also enjoyed laughter, family time, acting, music, camping and cooking up hot, spicy food. His dogs were his delight.Our redheaded Irish leprechaun, he enjoyed saying that St. Patrick's Day was his day. Patrick's life was filled with a readiness to give of himself. Therefore, his family chose to donate his organs, and is comforted knowing that already five Minnesota recipients have benefitted.The family thanks the Fridley Fire & Police, Allina Medical Transport, the HCMC Trauma & Neurosurgery teams who tried so valiantly to save him, and countless friends across the country who lifted him in prayer, love and support.Memorials preferred to Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Cancer Society, Orono High School Drama Department, or Muscular Dystrophy Association for MDA Camp.A service of celebration 2 PM Monday, March 15, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 50th Street and Knox Avenue S., Minneapolis.
