Irene Marylin Davis, 84, of Mountain Top, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.

Irene was born in Shickshinny to Merthyn and Irene Edwards on Nov. 7, 1932. She was a graduate of Shickshinny High School, Class of 1951, and went on to graduate from Wyoming Seminary's Business School.

She worked in the state employment office until she started her family.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Merthyn and Irene; husband, William L. Davis Sr.; brothers, James and Merthyn Edwards; and her sister, Charlotte Zaludek.

Irene is survived by her son, William and his wife, Jacqueline, Mountain Top; daughters, Jaime J. Davis, Celebration, Fla.; Priscilla Farrell and her husband, Brian, Mountain Top; Irene Marusak and her husband, David, Drums; and Victoria Flynn and her husband, Daniel, Dallas; 12 grandchildren, Alexandra Roman, William L. Davis III, Matthew Farrell, Michael Davis, Taylor Farrell, Keegan Farrell, Sara Davis, Angie Brower, Mia Brower, Daniel Flynn, Ellie Flynn and Evan Marusak; sister, Gwen Williams, Mount Joy; and many nieces and nephews.

Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Affectionately known as Nana to all 12 of her grandchildren, our mother was in her glory being a grandmother. When the grandchildren were little, you could always find her rocking one of them on her front porch swing or driving them around the family farm on her golf cart. When we think of our mother, we think of Christmas. She made every Christmas magical. She enjoyed Christmas so much that she displayed many of her favorite decorations year-round, especially her Santa figures. Our mother had been an avid collector of antiques. She was the mother that would buy your entire softball team ice cream at Kelly's Deli after each game - even if you lost. She will be greatly missed, but has left wonderful memories for everyone in the family to treasure.

Private services and burial were held at Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top, on Friday, June 9, with Pastor Shanley officiating.
