Mary Ann married Cornelius Durden 9 Oct 1852 in Desoto County, Mississippi (probably in the portion that is now Tate County). They had four known children.

On the 1860 Census for Batesville P.O., Panola, MS, they are listed with three children.

On the 1870 Census for Township 1 Range 6, DeSoto, MS, Olive Branch P.O, Mary Ann is listed with three children. One child listed in 1860 has evidently died. Mary Ann is evidently widowed.

On the On the 1880 Looxahoma, MS Census she is listed as a boarder in the household of her brother, Rufus K. Garrott and family. Looxahoma is the area of the Garrott family cemetery.

She was not located on the 1900 Census, or on other records after 1880, and appears to have died.

It is logical that Mary Ann was buried in an unmarked grave in the Garrott family cemetery, close to her residence in 1880. It is noted that Mary Ann has a married daughter, Lula Durden Harris, who was buried in Garrott - Wright Cemetery in a marked grave in 1903. She also has a grand child, the infant child of Lula Harris, buried there in a marked grave.
