Evelyn Brott was born in New York to Charles Sidney Brott and Margaret Mary Force Brott. She was a descendent of the New York Bradt's who settled in Orange County in the 1600's.
She had polio as a young girl and after that her parents agreed it would be better for her health to live in the country. She spent her time between several realtives homes, the Silverthornes and the Lloyds, sometimes living in Simcoe. Ontario. Canada and othertimes in rural New York. Everyone in the family had a bit of the "acting bug". By the time she was 10 , she had performed several times in vaudevile productions of Uncle Toms Cabin, playing "little Eva". Eva became her nickname and she was known as Eva the rest of her long life, 99 years and 11 months.
She met Donald Frend Tucker and married him. They had children: Donald Leslie, Norma Jean, Leola May and Nellie Luella and one stillborn infant. They lived in Ransomeville New York and were farmers. One night during a big storm, Lightening struck the large house and burned it to the ground. They moved to Ashland Ohio where the children grew up. Her husband was a free spirit and couldnt stay tied down for long so Eva raised the children on her own while working in the National Latex factory making toy balloons.
In her later years she married Raymond Aulger. They both loved God and helping others. Even into her 80's, Eva and Ray would go around and lead church services and
sing-a-longs at the local retirement homes every Sunday. They played harmonica duets. Eva would play organ and folks would sing hymns. Ray, who was a Sunday School teacher at the local Brethern Church, would give a sermon. She would say, "I have to go see the old folks now" and she was older than many of them.
Raymond was an excellent cook. Eva couldnt cook, so they had an arrangement . He cooked the meals and she did the dishes. She always felt that was a wonderful arrangement.Relatives were always keen to get an invitation to one of Rays dinners.
She loved to crochet and she made many beautiful blankets.
After a long and well lived life, she went to the loving arms of her Savior.
