Richard Henry Brunner
(Rockford) Mr. Richard Henry Brunner, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2006. He retired from Columbian as a truck driver for 43 years and was nominated truck driver of the year. Richard was a member of the V.F.W. Post #830 in Grand Rapids, the Merritt Lamb Post #102 American Legion in Rockford, the Moose Lodge in Sparta, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Florida. He is survived by his life companion, Darlene Bockheim; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dan Hardy of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Marc and Ashley Hardy, Nickolaus Hardy, Rachel Hardy, and Kristina and Troy Pritchard of Sydney; great-grandchildren, Doreen and Madeline Pritchard; mother, Mrs. Bernice Hills of Grand Rapids; brothers, Walter (Gloria) Brunner of Belmont, and Kurt (Diane) Brunner of Cibolo, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Sally Thelen of Grand Rapids, and Alma (Ron) Vernon of Dorr; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Brunner was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Richard in July 2004, and his father, Henry in November 1964. The Service for Mr. Brunner will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and interment in Blythefield Memory Gardens. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider Hospice of Michigan. Friends may meet with the Brunner family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
