Lloyd Vernon Peverill Lloyd Vernon Peverill died Monday, August 10, 2009 at Washington County Nursing Home in Chipley, Florida. He was 79. Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottonwood with Rev. Allen Newton officiating and Matt Albritton and Bruce Johnson assisting. Southern Heritage Funeral Home will be directing. Rev. Peverill was born April 20, 1930 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of the late Lloyd Victor and Iva Pearl Foster Peverill. He was a resident of Cottonwood for approximately fourteen years. He attended the University of Iowa on a wrestling scholarship. He was a graduate of Asbury College and Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. Rev. Peverill pastored churches in the Holston United Methodist Conference, Iowa Free Methodist Conference (Waterloo and Des Moines) and then a number of churches in the Iowa United Methodist Conference. He served as a volunteer Chaplain at the Mental Hospital in Marion, Virginia and was a Paramedic with the Olin, Iowa Volunteer Ambulance Ser-vice. Survivors include his wife, Eliza Mae Sellers Peverill, Cottonwood; sons: Amos Lloyd Peverill, Lynchburg, VA, Timothy Lamar Peverill, Oman; daughters: Amy Marie Ashby, Atlanta, GA, Suz-annah Rhea Harris, Katy, TX; brother, Charles "Chuck" Peverill, Waterloo, IA; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, (334) 702-1712, is in charge of arrangements.
