Moody was the beloved kitty of Eddy and Sarah Bell and their children.
Since Moody was a member of this family for 12 years we can well assume that he was a much loved kitty and an important part of all their lives.
That alone says alot about Moody's life...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water, sunshine and toys and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
Those who were abused or mal-treated have had their tears wiped away, and sit for as long as they want on the Golden Flowing Robes of God's Lap. They feel the touch of Pure Love on their heads and finally know happiness.
All the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing ~ they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent and the eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, they breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

"For everything there is a season,
and a time for every purpose under Heaven:
a time to be born, a time to die,
a time to plant, a time to uproot,
a time to weep, a time to laugh,
a time to grieve, a time to dance"

~ King Solomon (Ecclesiastes 3)

"our time with our fur babies is always shorter than we'd like, we know when we get them that we'll in all likely hood outlive them, but we get them anyway. I think it's God's way of showing us in one form on this earth what His unconditional love feels like. To be loved by a pet such as this one is to know the taste of that kind of love for just a season... but that wondrous taste is enough... just for a season." bjv

A Letter From Your Pet In Heaven

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."

God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.

God says: "If you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind."

"And when it's time for you to go...
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...
you're coming here to me."

The following tells the story of Moody's torture and death.

Rick Bartlett, Pastor for Bastrop Christian Church and Police Chaplain, was arrested for animal cruelty in relation to the death of our 12 year old cat, Moody.
Our sweet cat was trapped by Rick Bartlett our neighbor who lives three houses down the street. He was held without food or water for days before his death. Bartlett claims he "forgot about him".. He also claims he thought Moody was a feral cat, even though he was friendly, neutered, and had a collar with ID tags.
When he finally "remembered" he had our pet, he took Moody to Bastrop Animal Control, but they told him Moody needed to be returned home because he was someones pet. They offered to take Moody back home, but Bartlett said he wanted to do it himself.
Five hours after Animal Control last saw Moody with Rick Bartlett, we received a phone call from a local veterinary clinic. The receptionist who called us claimed Moody had been thrown from the downtown bridge that runs over the Colorado River, a 50ft drop, and was struggling to survive. We told them to do whatever it took to save him, we didn't care about cost, and we rushed to the clinic. The veterinarian examined Moody and noted he was suffering internal damage consistent with blunt force trauma, including punctured lungs. His pads torn from his feet, and strangely bleeding from his penis as well. Moody succumbed to his injuries and died just a few hours later.
Rick Bartlett has changed his story a couple of times, he doesn't claim that he threw Moody off the bridge, but we still feel we don't know where the truth lies. In his final admission, he reports that after he left Animal Control, he did not take Moody home like he said he would. He ran errands in town, to his bank and his church (over 2 miles away from our home - where Moody was supposed to be taken!). Then, decided he would let Moody out of the trap, loose in the open bed of his truck, and he began to drive. He said he just hoped Moody would jump out at some point while he was driving.
Next thing we hear, Moody is unable to move, at the bottom of the bridge, clinging to life. We do not believe Rick Bartlett ever had any intentions of getting our beloved Moody back home to us. We believe that Rick Bartlett knowingly put Moody in a situation that would result in harm being caused, including death. We want everyone to join us in making sure Rick Bartlett serves the maximum sentence for this crime, no less!

The latest on Moody's killer...
On May 17, 2013, the pastor/police chaplain who committed this ungodly act against you was found "Guilty". Though Pastor Rick Bartlett got off without very much earthly punishment, no jail time, no monetary fine, just one year of probation, there will come a day when he will have to answer to a power MUCH higher.

One day justice for you will be served. If this man would do what he did to you, he's not a person I'd trust with my heart and soul as one should be able to a 'man of God' as he proposes to be.
