Thoroughbred Racehorse. He was an Irish bred Thoroughbred racehorse, best noted for winning the 2015 Grand National. Sold as a colt foal in November 2007, he was sent to England where he began his career as National Hunt racehorse with renowned trainer Oliver Sherwood. In his first season debut, he won the National Hunt Flat Race at Wetherby Racecourse in 2011, followed by a win at Ascot Racecourse in 2012. Emerging as a top class chase racer, he went on to win the Carlisle Racecourse (2013), Colin Parker Memorial Chase (2014), Hennessy Gold Cup (2014), Cotswold Chase (2015), Grand National (2015) and was awarded British Jump Racing Horse of the Year in 2015. On January 28, 2017, he beat undefeated Thistlecrack by winning his second Cotswold Chase Championship. Collapsing shortly after crossing the finish line, he died from a pulmonary hemorrhage at age 9. At the time of his passing, he was the most promising Pedigree chase racehorse with a record of 27 starts, 12 wins, 7 places, 0 shows and £928,000 in earnings.
